Program Accreditation
The Education Department of Georgetown College has earned national accreditation by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The Education Department of Georgetown College has also earned the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board state accreditation at both the initial and advanced educator preparation levels.

Program Approval
The Department of Chemistry has “approved” status from the American Chemical Society. This recognition is granted to less than one-quarter of the nation’s colleges and universities. The ACS promotes excellence in chemistry education for undergraduate students through approval of baccalaureate chemistry programs. ACS approval is based upon such factors as the number and academic qualifications of the faculty, foundation and in-depth course and lab offerings, instrumentation, library holdings, administrative support, budgets, research opportunities, and lab space. ACS-approved programs offer a broad-based and rigorous chemistry education that gives students intellectual, experimental, and communication skills to become effective scientific professionals.

Georgetown College's affiliations include the American Council of Education (ACE), American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities, National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AIKCU), Kentucky Independent College Foundation, the Network of Church-Related Colleges and Universities, and the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities. Additionally, faculty and staff are affiliated with a number of regional, national and international professional organizations.
